Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech to Dades Gorges

After breakfast, departure from Marrakech at a time to be agreed. The majestic High Atlas Mountains rise impressively as we leave the city. The winding mountain road offers breathtaking views of rugged peaks, scattered villages, flowing rivers, and cascading waterfalls.

We make a stop at the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore this ancient ksar with a guided tour—famous for being a filming location for numerous international movies. Optional lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we continue along the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing by the palm grove of Skoura. Arrival at Dades Gorges in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in a kasbah nestled in the gorges.

After breakfast, enjoy a short tour through the Dades Gorges, a region rich in greenery and traditional farming. The presence of the river flowing through the valley brings life and color to the landscape.

We then head toward the spectacular Todra Gorges—a paradise for nature lovers. Optional lunch and free time to relax by the clear mountain waters.

The journey continues into the desert, and as the scenery changes, so does the spirit of the adventure. At the end of the road awaits the magnificent Sahara Desert.

Here, camels (dromedaries) patiently await to carry you across the dunes to your desert camp. A warm Berber welcome and a candlelit dinner await you. Overnight in well-equipped desert tents designed for tourism. (See “TIPS” > “Choosing Accommodation” > “In the Desert” for help selecting your camp type.)

Wake up for breakfast, then begin the return journey through the landscapes of southern Morocco. The rugged and minimalist scenery leads us to Alnif, and later to the breathtaking Draa Valley, home to the largest palm grove in North Africa. Optional lunch or picnic during the drive.

Continue the journey back to Marrakech, known as the Red City, the Southern Pearl, and Morocco’s tourism capital. Arrival in the late afternoon.
